TRP first came into our orbit around a year ago with his Pano EP on Lobster Theremin, and has since been making moves with DJ sets across the continent, a release on Shall Not Fade as well as number of appearances on Rinse. Now the German producer is back with another full-length EP, this time bringing his brand of muscular acid to DJ Haus’ UTTU label for all all-action affair.
Duly described by DJ Haus himself as ‘blistering freaked out acid tekno & bloodklart-electro kutz 4 club use only’, the Gunz EP is a three-string player of industrial, lacerating dance cuts finely tuned for the early hours. The gentle ambiance that opens DS4 is quickly overpowered by some of the wiry acid riffs and solid kick drums that characterise this release, before we’re sent west by the sirens of Gunz. The title track’s groove is held through the addition of pads, bongo samples and razor sharp percussion, with Service closing the project in more sunny yet equally pounding territory.
TRP showing some real brawn to complement his softer creations. Out 27th of March digital and vinyl.
